Transforming a tradeshow booth into a high-end home, FII India promotes the versatility, elegance, and sustainability of BC wood at INDEXPLUS 2024

FII India participated in INDEXPLUS 2024, a premier trade show showcasing furniture, furnishings, and interior design in India. Held at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai from May 31 to June 2, it is the country’s largest event for interiors, architecture, materials, and design.

To highlight the versatility and elegance of British Columbia’s wood species, FII India collaborated with eight Indian manufacturers to create a high-end home display that combined BC’s high-quality, sustainable wood with Indian manufacturers’ design, manufacturing, and craftsmanship expertise. Using western hemlock, Douglas-fir, yellow cedar, western red cedar, and spruce-pine-fir (S-P-F), the manufacturers crafted a living room, bedroom suite, and outdoor seating area.

The high-end luxury display featured innovative furniture designs using warm tones, while highlighting the various species’ versatility. Furniture pieces included a hexagonal bench, wooden swing, vanity with mirror, sliding door, TV console, study table, bed set, among many others.

FII India also spoke at a seminar as part of a panel discussion titled ‘EcoCraft: Creating Sustainable Furniture’. Speaking to a targeted audience of up to 80 attendees, FII India focused on the unique qualities of BC species and highlighted Canada’s international reputation for sustainability practices.

The FII India exhibit at INDEXPLUS 2024 garnered significant interest from importers, manufacturers, and architects. The combination of exceptional wood quality, innovative designs, and skilled craftsmanship showed the potential of Canadian wood in the luxury home market. This premier event is a significant opportunity for exposure to the vast wood and manufacturing sector in India and provided further connections with key audiences to gain insights and raise awareness of wood from British Columbia.
